Step 2 CK assesses application to patient care, health promotion and disease prevention. The exam tests the clinical sciences:
- Public Health
- Internal Medicine
- Pediatrics

- Surgery
Test format:
- 370 questions
- 9 hours of testing (including an hour of break time).
- Two multiple-choice formats used on Step 2 CK: single best answer and single answer matching
Scoring:
- Minimum passing score: 184/75
- This corresponds to answering 60-70% of the items correctly, approximately 222 -259 questions
