Course Structure
Your course will start as soon as you receive your lecture notes and are given access to your online account. You will begin the OnlinePrep course by taking a Diagnostic Test. This will help you determine what your strengths and weaknesses are.
Then you can use the account to view the lectures to learn the USMLE content. Throughout the OnlinePrep course you will sit 9 assessment tests on various subjects in order to assess your progress - this will help you determine areas which you need to improve.
As well as this you will sit a full length simulated exam which lets you assess performance in exam-like conditions.

Test Overview
USMLE Step 1:
Tests basic science principles, specifically in anatomy, behavioral science, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, pharmacology, and physiology. Interdisciplinary areas such as genetics, immunology, and nutrition are also tested. Step 1 emphasizes mechanisms of health, disease and modes of therapy.
Test Format
USMLE Step 1:
- 350 questions
- 8 hours of testing (including an hour of break time)
- Questions are divided into 7 blocks of 50 questions, which are completely random
- Most question items assess basic medical science concepts in the form of clinical vignettes
Test Scores
USMLE Step 1 minimum passing score: 185/75
Register for the Test
International medical graduates must register for Steps 1 and 2 CK through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) on www.ecfmg.org. Registering and scheduling your exam date is a multi-step process:

Secure the application materials
The ECFMG will require official copies of various documents including your medical diploma and transcripts -
Complete the application and submit with your application fee and a recent photo
During the application process you will be asked to choose a 3-month "eligibility period" during which you want to take the exams. -
Receive your Scheduling Permit
Once your application is processed, you will receive a Scheduling Permit. This permit will tell you the start and end dates of your 3-month eligibility period, instructions on scheduling your exam, as well as your Scheduling Number and your Candidate Identification Number. -
Schedule your test date directly with the Prometric center
Your Scheduling Permit will have instructions on contacting the Prometric center to select your test date (must be within eligibility period).
